Role Overview The ServiceNow ITOM Consultant is responsible for designing and implementing automated solutions that enhance operational visibility and service health. Key Responsibilities Discovery & CMDB: Configure and maintain horizontal and top-down Discovery to ensure the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) is accurate. Service Mapping: Create high-fidelity maps of business applications to understand how infrastructure failures impact specific services. Event Management: Integrate ServiceNow with monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Splunk) to correlate events and automate incident creation. MID Server Management: Install and troubleshoot Management, Instrumentation, and Discovery (MID) servers within secure networks. Automation: Build low-code workflows using Flow Designer to automate remediation tasks (e.g., restarting a service or expanding disk space). Required Qualifications Certifications: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in Discovery or Event Management. Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript/Glide scripting, regex, and patterns for Discovery. Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of networking (SNMP, SSH, WMI), cloud infrastructure, and ITIL frameworks.
