Staff Software Engineer Security Center

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our Security Center team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes.
• Work with product owners and designers to understand requirements and refine scope of work.
• Own your code from design, implementation, test automation, and delivery.
• Collaborate with fellow developers, and on other teams, and quality engineering peers.
• Contribute to both new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite.
• Shape intuitive user experiences and customer journeys across our product suite.
• Troubleshoot customer environments and debug code.
• Explore and integrate ServiceNow AI capabilities into our products.
• Mentor peers and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and engineering excellence.

Requirements:

• A proactive mindset and strong initiative.

• Experience designing, building, and shipping software to production environments.
• Proficiency in debugging tools and resolving product issues.
• A track record of supporting customers with critical production issues.
• Experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical decisions.

• A reflective approach to work, with interest in integrating AI into workflows and decision-making.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of software engineering experience; or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
• Strong proficiency in Java or similar object-oriented languages.
• Experience developing applications in JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical and design skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and supporting production systems.
• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
