Job Description
A ServiceNow operational resilience professional requires skills in platform administration and specific GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) product features, combined with a strong understanding of core operational resilience principles.
CMDB and CSDM: Expertise with the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Common Service Data Model (CSDM) is essential for accurately mapping and managing critical business services, processes, and their underlying technology.
GRC Module Expertise: Deep knowledge of the ServiceNow GRC suite, particularly its Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and Business Continuity Management (BCM) features, is crucial for implementing operational resilience strategies.
ServiceNow Development: The ability to configure, customize, and extend the platform using tools like Flow Designer and App Engine to meet specific business needs.
Reporting and analytics: Skills to create custom reports, dashboards, and visualizations to monitor the state of operational resilience and inform stakeholders.
Core ServiceNow Development Skills
These foundational abilities are essential for developing any application on the Now Platform, including Operational Resilience solutions.
JavaScript: The primary scripting language for customizing business rules, UI actions, client scripts, and script includes.
Glide API: Deep knowledge of ServiceNow's proprietary APIs for querying and manipulating platform data.
Flow Designer and Workflow Editor: Skills for automating business processes, tasks, and integrations without extensive code.
UI Development (NoCode/LowCode): Expertise in creating and customizing user interfaces using tools like Service Portal (AngularJS), UI Builder (Web Components), and standard web technologies (HTML, CSS).
Application Development: The ability to build custom applications in ServiceNow Studio and manage applications and upgrades.
Data Modeling: Understanding the ServiceNow data model, including tables, fields, and relationships, to design efficient and scalable applications.
Integrations: Knowledge of connecting ServiceNow with other systems using methods like REST and SOAP APIs, as well as the Integration Hub.
