ServiceNow Engineer for Infrastructure Solutions

Job Overview:

This position focuses on implementing and maintaining ServiceNow Discovery at a financial institution. The engineer will support the implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and integrations of ServiceNow Discovery. They will collaborate with product owners and technical specialists to define and update scan capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the configuration and implementation of ServiceNow's Discovery, CMDB, and solutions that interface with other ITSM modules.
• Ensure the integration of information into the CMDB from ServiceNow Discovery is accurate and consistent.
• Coordinate discovery efforts across multiple regions.
• Perform discoveries and troubleshoot access issues for discovery.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures for all processes and application improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with Data Stewards across IT regions and domains to coordinate scans and resolve issues.
• Provide subject matter expertise and consulting services on technologies and assist Technical Analysts and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards.
• Assist in translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies.
• Develop software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes.
• Conduct evaluations of third-party products being considered for adoption.
• Promote a healthy working environment and help resolve organizational impediments/blockers.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Discovery module of ServiceNow at a large organization.
• Expert knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, and ITSM applications.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, Windows system administration, and understanding of SAN/NAS storage, TCP/IP Networking.
• Proficiency in Unix and Windows scripting (e.g., Perl, shell, PowerShell, JavaScript).
• Experience with complex projects.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to work with multiple groups to gather business requirements for scans.
• Experience leveraging MID servers for integration and automation.
• ITIL Foundations certified or higher preferred.

• Bachelor's Degree in Technology or related field.
