CMDB Engineer: ServiceNow

Job Title: CMDB Engineer (ServiceNow – Discovery & Service Mapping)

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 Months (Contract)

Pay Rate: $65/hour (W2)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced CMDB Engineer with deep ServiceNow expertise to support and

enhance our Configuration Management Database, Service Mapping, and Discovery capabilities.

This role will be instrumental in ensuring our CMDB remains accurate, complete, and aligned to

ITIL best practices while enabling visibility into our IT infrastructure and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• ServiceNow development/administration
• Experience with discovery and service mapping , establishing CI relationships
• Configure, maintain, and optimize the ServiceNow CMDB to ensure data accuracy,
• completeness, and compliance.
• Design and implement Discovery schedues, probes, and patterns to automatically
• populate and maintain CIs in the CMDB.
• Build and maintain Service Maps to represent critical business services and their
• dependencies.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to onboard new CI classes
• and relationships into the CMDB.
• Develop and maintain CMDB governance processes and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve discovery and mapping issues, including data integrity
• problems.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure CMDB supports Incident, Problem, Change, and Asset
• Management processes.

Qualifications:

4+ years of hands-on experience working with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and

Service Mapping.

Strong understanding of ITIL Configuration Management processes.

Proven ability to create and customize patterns, probes, and sensors in ServiceNow

Discovery.

Experience with integrating CMDB data from multiple sources.

Solid understanding of networking, cloud, and infrastructure components.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Discovery or CMDB (preferred).
